At CHEC English Language Centre, our English as a Second Language programs run from 5 to 50 weeks. Each day of classes you receive 4 hours English language tuition from experienced English tutors and 1 hour using self-access facilities in the library, Student Learning Centre or computing centre. Students can also visit classes at high school, TAFE, or Southern Cross University. You also receive free Internet and e-mail access.

CHEC is located 6 hours North of Sydney on the Coffs Coast - a region of green, world heritage listed rainforests, relaxed, friendly towns, a rich history and culture, a superb string of golden surf beaches and a spectacular underwater landscape beneath the Pacific Ocean. The main regional centre is the vibrant city of Coffs Harbour. To complement the high quality intensive English language courses, CHEC English Language Centre arranges student social activities and can help you find local accommodation such as motels, guest houses, backpacker hostels, apartments/flats or home stay accommodation.

CHEC English Language Centre is a partnership between Southern Cross University, North Coast Institute of TAFE and the Department of Education.

Can't travel to Australia? Then learn English online instead! The CHEC online ESL program offers students 12 month self-study and 12 month teacher-led online English classes. All you need to study English online with us is a computer and reliable Internet access.
